Mortgage Loan Originator

Full Time, Contract

$50,000 to $300,000
Colorado Springs, CO

This position is commission based pay. Pay is based solely off of loans closed. You will be required to sign a contract. 1099 employment only.

Expectations:

Actively seek new prospects
Responsible for calling prospects in regards to mortgage loan applications
Interview loan applicants and assist with the loan application process
Pre-qualifying borrowers
Prepares loan files to be turned into processing and set-up; according to company policies and procedures
Maintaining communication with the client regarding rate locks and anything pertaining to the structure of the loan you qualified them for
Point of contact for Realtors and other entities in the transaction
Communicate a thorough understanding of different loan programs and closing costs to help prospective buyers make a decision
Create relationships with realtors, prospects and customers to establish trust and encourage referral business.
Knowledge of underwriting guidelines for conventional and government loans as well as state and federal mortgage regulations and disclosures
Attend monthly sales meetings

Requirements

Must have an active NMLS Mortgage Originator License
Must maintain a valid Colorado Mortgage Originator license (to include individual E&O coverage and surety bond)
Origination experience preferred
Sales experience preferred
Customer service is a must

Availability is key

Stay current on new products available for customers, completing ongoing education for licensing and compliance
Exceptional decision-making ability, superior written and verbal communication skills, and superb interpersonal and customer service skills required
Experience with loan origination software preferred. We use Calyx Point.
Extremely self-motivated with attention to detail

Pay: $50,000 - $300,000.00 per year

Education:

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

Loan origination: 1 year (Preferred)

Sales: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

Mortgage Loan Origination License (Required)
